Overview
A grid that does not negotiate
Verso publishes long, difficult essays, so the design brief was mostly about stamina. We set one measure, one leading and three image widths, then wrote the rules down so any editor could lay out a feature without us.
Issue to issue the covers differ only in the image and the issue number. Shelved together they read as a run rather than a series of one offs.
